Soloman going to Ottawa

Evan Soloman has a new job, and will host a reworked political affairs show for CBC Newsworld, settling into the chair vacated last month by Don Newman.

The former co-host of CBC Sunday will, every weekday, front an as-yet unnamed two-hour show from Ottawa. The network describes the new show, which is still under development, as an expansion upon CBC Politics, which Newman hosted for many years before taking early retirement.

It will run 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET, launching sometime in the fall.

At the same time, the Ceeb has shuffled a number of its political reporters. Terry Milewski is also moving to Ottawa as the network’s new senior correspondent in the political bureau, while Keith Boag becomes the American west coast correspondent, based in L.A.

Susan Bonner joins the Washington bureau, while David Common has been assigned to New York.
