Infopreneur showcases weird Canadians
toronto-based Infopreneur provides strategy, technology, and creative solutions to digital entrepreneurs. Combining the ‘three cs’ of content, commerce, and community, the company serves both Internet startups and existing organizations looking to build customer relationships and brands in the era of new media.
Infopreneur has developed its own Internet content properties as well, most notably Chilly Beach, a fully animated Internet cartoon which won the 1999 Real Networks’ Streamer Award for Most Entertaining Site on the Web. The Chilly Beach site describes its characters as ‘a bunch of weird Canadians doing the stuff that Canadians do, like drinking beer, playing hockey, and being eaten by polar bears.’ The full Chilly Beach experience requires the Flash 4 plug-in, which can be downloaded from the site.
Infopreneur also conceived, designed and developed ITWorldCanada.com, a site that assembles various components of information technology into one convenient portal. A true convergence experience, the site offers individually accessible write-ups on different info tech issues, a daily newswire, video interviews, e-mail feedback, and polls.
Other Infopreneur projects on the horizon include an instructional golf site called icangolf.com and a Web series aimed at post-secondary students.
