the latest project in the Canadian Film Centre’s Feature Film Project is an as-yet untitled drama that fuses shoe repair, hockey trivia and sexual yearning in a darkly comic love triangle. The setting is downtown Toronto.

Vancouver-based writer Jaan Kolk penned the script based on his play Hearts and Soles. Director is Colleen Murphy and producer is Elizabeth Yake, both of Toronto. The trio is the same team that made The Feeler, a short which premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival and is in the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film will be made with the same $700,000 budget (half in deferrals and half in cash) as its predecessors.
