Job Description:

The Director of Physical Production will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and administering standards and procedures for feature and series productions that support overall protocols and client partner relationships. This person will proactively assist the department in developing comprehensive strategies to maximize the use of new technology media to increase production efficiency. This person must be an experienced, creative team player with exceptional organizational and client service skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work with department leadership to organize and strategize production calendars and shooting schedules.
• Review and resolve issues regarding production and post-production administration including but not limited to call sheets, production reports, delivery schedules, status reports.
• Gather, distribute and archive production paperwork as well as track and manage assets.
• Coordinate across departments to confirm sufficient delivery of all production materials for both Studio produced and non-Studio produced/support materials.
• Work with the department leadership to draft production and post-production post-mortems
• Research global incentives, local industry, crew, and locations etc. with department leadership to identify jurisdiction locations for potential projects
• Manage and update production manuals, production forms, and information sheets.
• Liaise with various studio departments and coordinate compulsory production meetings.
• Create presentations and research documents in a timely and accurate manner
• Assist department leadership in breaking down scripts, scheduling, and budgeting for both domestic and international productions.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in film/tv production as a UPM, Production Supervisor, or Production Coordinator.

Experience in Movie Magic Scheduling, Budgeting and Final Draft.

Proficient in Word, and Excel.

Cross-functional expertise in film development, production and post-production.

Ability to travel for extended periods and have a passion for innovation, pushing boundaries and accepting challenges.

Superior knowledge of post-production and post-production workflows.

[Ability to travel and] work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

First-hand production experience in Toronto and the GTA. Experience with Northern Ontario productions and foreign production outside the U.S. and Canada are a plus.

Excellent interpersonal skills that nimbly navigate a range of personalities and shifting work environments, working closely and easily with all levels of the organization and its partners.

Strong organizational, research and communication skills.

Creative, analytical problem-solving skills and a high retention of industry knowledge and project-specific information.

Demonstrated self-motivation with a positive outlook and a strong personal work ethic.

Excellent communication skills, computer literacy and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
