Thunderbird inks distribution deal with Crave for Punk

The four-part docuseries produced by Network Entertainment will make its debut on the Bell Media streamer next month.

Punk -v2Thunderbird Entertainment Group has struck a Canadian distribution deal with Bell Media’s Crave for Network Entertainment’s docuseries Punk.

Produced by the Vancouver-headquartered company for American TV network EPIX, the four-part series explores the music, art and fashion behind the subculture.

Officially introduced this JanuaryPunk is Network Entertainment’s first collaboration with American menswear designer John Varvatos. Directed by Jesse James Miller, whose credits include Network’s I Am Richard Pryor, the one-hour series made its debut on EPIX in the U.S. this March. Punk is set to debut this August on Crave.

Musicians featured in Punk include Joan Jett, Marky Ramone, Dave Grohl, Johnny Rotten and Iggy Pop, who also serves as an exec producer on the series alongside Varvatos. Network Entertainment founder and CEO Derik Murray is a producer on the project. Fremantle oversees distribution on Punk in other international territories.

This deal for Punk follows Network’s recent announcement that it has teamed up with American TV personality Tyra Banks to produce Quibi docuseries Beauty. The 18-episode series examining societal standards around beauty will debut on the short-form platform in 2020.
