Crave boards Dark Side of the Ring

The Viceland docuseries was renewed for a second season as a Crave Original in Canada.

dark-side-ringBell Media has partnered with U.S. channel Viceland to commission season two of pro-wrestling docuseries Dark Side of the Ring.

The 10 x 60-minute unscripted series, which examines the lives of famous wresters, will become a Crave original. The first season will be available to stream in fall. This is the first time the series will be available to Canadian viewers.

Dark Side of the Ring is produced by Vice Studios in Canada in partnership with Bell Media. Evan Husney and Jason Eisener are executive producers on the series.

Crave has commissioned a number of unscripted and factual projects in 2019, including two original series from etalk correspondents Chloe Wilde and Elaine “Lainey” Lui. The streamer gave the greenlight to a Canadian remake of RuPaul’s Drag Race in partnership with OUTtv, with Blue Ant Media serving as producer.

Bell Media Studios has also partnered with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer prodco Imagine Entertainment, alongside White Pine Pictures and Universal Music Canada’s Shed Creative, on documentary Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band. The doc will be the first Canadian documentary to open the Toronto International Film Festival.
