Noah SegalToronto distribution company Elevation Pictures is continuing to expand its production business through its latest feature project, The Exchange.

Filming is underway in Ottawa on the coming-of-age comedy, which is produced by London, U.K.-based prodco Who’s On First and Toronto’s Elevation.

Directed by British screenwriter and filmmaker Dan Mazar, The Exchange tells the story of a socially awkward teenager who gets more than he bargained for when a French exchange student comes to live with him.

Christina Piovesan and Noah Segal (pictured) are producing for Elevation, alongside Dan Hine of Who’s On First. Tim Long (The Simpsons, The Late Show with David Letterman) penned the script.

The cast includes This Is Us star Justin Hartley, as well as Canadian actor Avan Jogia and Australian Ed Oxenbould. It is executive produced and financed by the Los Angeles Media Fund.

First launched in November 2016, Elevation’s production arm has racked up a number of credits over the past 12 months including Semi Chellas’ American Woman, Jay Baruchel’s Random Acts of Violence and the Canada/Ireland coproduction The Nest.
