Production is underway on the historical drama Brotherhood.
Filming on the feature is taking place on Michipicoten First Nation Reserve in northern Ontario, with the production heading to Toronto next week.
Brotherhood tells the true story of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew canoe trip in 1926 that killed 11 young men. Written and directed by Richard Bell (Eighteen), the film stars Brendan Fehr (Wynonna Earp), Brendan Fletcher (iZombie) and Jake Manley (Heroes Reborn).
It is produced by Industry Pictures’ Mehernaz Lentin (Fall), Karma Film’s Anand Ramayya (Chokeslam) and JoBro Productions’ Jonathan Bronfman (Two Lovers and a Bear). LevelFilm will distribute in Canada, though release details have yet to be announced.
The film is produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada, OMDC, Creative Saskatchewan, Shaw Rocket Fund, NOHFC, Super Channel, Aqute Media and Level Film.
