The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is partnering with Toronto’s Buffer Festival to offer a day of digital-first programming.

Founded in 2013, the Buffer Festival presents exclusive YouTube video premieres and showcases up-and-coming and top creators.  The VIFF event will bring Buffer’s award-winning videos to Vancouver, and will feature panels and keynotes from technology providers and industry leaders.

The VIFF/Buffer partnership will be presented as a full day of programming during the Vancouver festival, which takes place Sept. 28 to Oct. 13. Full details on the program will be announced in September.

The partnership is VIFF’s latest programming update. Last year, the festival launched its “film-plus” model, organizing its programming into eight “multi-experiential” streams, that not only included film screenings, but keynote addresses, workshops and special events.
