HGTV Canada preps two new lifestyle series

Home renovation shows Holmes: Buy It Right and Sarah Off the Grid will premiere in September.

Mike HolmesCorus Entertainment’s HGTV Canada has set the premiere dates for two new additions to its lifestyle roster.

Starring designer Sarah Richardson, six-part series Sarah Off the Grid  premieres on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. The show is produced by Toronto’s Alibi Entertainment, in association with HGTV Canada, and follows Richardson and her family as they build a home in Creemore, Ontario. Tommy Smythe, who hosts Gusto series The Search for Canada’s Next Designer, also stars in the series, with guest appearances from Mike Holmes (pictured), Mike Holmes Jr. and Colin Hunter.

Also set to debut on the same night is the new series from the elder Holmes in Holmes: Buy It Right. Premiering at 9 p.m., the fourteen-part series sees the renovation expert coaching veteran and first-time home buyers as they assess three properties before making a purchase. The series is produced by Montana-based Warm Springs Productions and Scripps Networks Interactive.

Holmes’ other TV series include Holmes and Holmes, Home to WinHolmes Inspection and Holmes Makes it Right.
