Conquering Lion Pictures' Damon D'Oliveira and Clement Virgo were honoured at the star-studded event.

The Canadian Film Centre hosted its annual L.A. reception at the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills on March 22.

Conquering Lion Pictures’ Damon D’Oliveira and Clement Virgo were awarded the fourth annual CFC Award for Creative Excellence at the event. The CFC alumni were honoured for their body of work, which includes The Book of Negroes, Poor Boy’s Game and the upcoming Lawrence Hill adaptation The Illegal. CFC mentors and board members Eugene Levy, John Morayniss and Christina Jennings turned out for the festivities, alongside Canadian stars like Stephan James, Brent Butt, and Lyriq Bent.
