Toronto’s 9 Story Media Group is expanding its global reach.

The kids and family producer/distributor has launched a new international distribution arm, 9 Story Distribution International Ltd.

The new operation will be based at Brown Bag Films’ animation studio in Dublin, Ireland. 9 Story acquired Brown Bag, the producer of children’s series such as Octonauts and Hugglemonster, in August of last year.

According to a company release, the newly launched operation is intended to help grow 9 Story’s European footprint and enhance its access to international customers.

This summer, 9 Story appointed former Aardman Animations exec Alix Wiseman to lead its distribution and acquisitions efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
