Netflix orders additional 20 eps of Degrassi: Next Class

The episodes will be packaged as seasons three and four on the streaming service.

degrassi newNetflix has ordered an additional 20 episodes of Degrassi: Next Class from DHX Media, which will be packaged as seasons three and four on the streaming service.

In summer 2015, DHX Media announced it was launching a new iteration of the Degrassi franchise after Bell Media’s MTV Canada and U.S. kids net TeenNick cancelled the show. Epitome Pictures produced 20 episodes of Next Class last year, which were packaged as seasons one and two on Netflix. The streamer also earlier this week announced that season two will be available on its platform from July 22.

On DHX’s Family Channel, 10 of the 20 episodes of the series have aired thus far, though DHX has not yet announced when the next 10 will air, or whether they will be part of a 20-episode season one or a 10-episode season two.

No information has yet been announced about when the new episodes will go to camera, or when they will air.

Epitome Pictures produces Degrassi: Next Class in association with Family Channel and Netflix, and the show is executive produced by Linda Schuyler, Stephen Stohn, Sarah Glinski and Matt Huether.
