The People Garden to world premiere in Argentina

The feature from Scythia Films, Aiken Heart Films and JoBro Productions will debut in-competition at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Film.

the people gardenThe People Garden from Canadian director and actress Nadia Litz is to make its world premiere at the 2016 Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Film (BAFICI).

The film – produced by Toronto-based production companies Scythia Films, Aiken Heart Films and JoBro Productions – will screen in-competition in the festival’s International Official Competition.

The People Garden follows an actress who travels to Japan to break up with her musician boyfriend but upon her arrival, she discovers he has gone missing, leading her to seek the help of a man who lives and works in the forest.

In Canada, the film is being distributed by Pacific Northwest Pictures and is set for release this summer. The feature film is Litz’s second and went into production in December 2014.

The film stars Dree Hemingway (While We’re Young), Pamela Anderson, François Arnaud (I Killed My Mother), James Le Gros (GirlsJustified), Liane Balaban (The Grand Seduction), Jai West (Hazard) and Dennis Akiyama (Resident Evil: Afterlife).

Producers on the project are Daniel Bekerman (Bang Bang Baby, The Witch), Coral Aiken (Big Muddy) and Jonathan Bronfman (Bang Bang Baby), with executive producers Mark Gingras, Lon Molnar, Emily Alden, David Joseph Anselmo, Ethan Lazar, and Heidi Levitt.
