W Network launches Love It or List It Vacation Homes

W Network is launching Love It or List It Vacation Homes, the latest spin-off of the popular and long-running Love It or List It franchise, which also includes Love It or List It Vancouver.

Love It or List It Vacation Homes (13 x 60 mins), produced by Big Coat Productions in association with W Network, will premiere on the network May 9 at 10 p.m.

The new series is hosted by realtor Elisa Goldhawke and designer Dan Vickery (HGTV’s Design Star) and will showcase holiday retreats in British Columbia and Ontario. Like the original, Vacation Homes will follow the co-hosts as they compete to persuade homeowners to either keep their renovated property or move to a new one.

A new Love It program fits with W’s strategy of building and expanding on the successes of its property programming, which also includes the popular Property Brothers franchise and Masters of Flip.

John MacDonald, EVP, head of Women and Family, Corus Entertainment talked to Playback for our Winter 2015/2016 issue and said property is not as niche as some may have thought, and W is capitalizing on that.

Of the latest franchise expansion, Vacation Homes, he said:  “Psychologically, for a lot of our audience, the opportunity to escape is very attractive – very freeing – and a lot of us, whether we have a vacation property or not, like the notion of one.”
