Premiere dates set for Houdini, Slasher

The new Canadian series' will debut this spring on Global/Fox and Super Channel/Chiller, respectively.

Houdini & DoyleTwo Canadian series, both from Shaftesbury, have locked down premiere dates this spring on Canadian and U.S. screens.

Houdini & Doyle, a big-budget coproduction from Shaftesbury and the U.K.’s Big Talk Productions, will debut Monday May 2 at 9 p.m. on Shaw Media’s main net Global in simulcast with Fox in the U.S. It will also be available on Global’s website and Global GO the next day.

The 10-part series was created by David Hoselton and David Titcher and is executive produced by David Shore. It stars American actor Michael Weston, Brit Stephen Mangan and Canadian Rebecca Liddiard.

Slasher is an eight-part horror anthology series developed and produced by Shaftesbury in association with U.S. specialty Chiller and Canada’s Super Channel. The series is the first original series ordered by Chiller, which focuses on the horror genre. It is set to debut on Super Channel on Friday April 1 at 9 p.m. and on Super Channel On Demand the next day. It will be preceded by a U.S. premiere date on Chiller of March 4.

The Slasher cast includes a who’s who of Canadian talent, including Mary Walsh, Erin Karpluk, and Brandon Jay McLaren and Wendy Crewson.
