Toronto’s Guru Studio has hired Rachel Marcus, the former digital content development producer at Nickelodeon US, as its new development executive.
Marcus will be responsible for developing all content (domestic/international) for the studio, sourcing new IPs and overseeing strategic positioning.
She will also work with artists to source, create and pitch new concepts, research market gaps and trends as well as promote content to broadcasters. She’ll also be responsible for building relationships between creative and finance partners and developing new growth strategies with Guru’s president and creative director Frank Falcone and EVP Mary Bredin. Marcus will report directly to Bredin.
While at Nickelodeon, Marcus developed new digital games and short-form linear content for Nick.com and Nick Jr.
Marcus steps into her new role on March 27.
