Writer/director Iain MacLeod has set the cameras rolling on Your Money or Your Wife, a romantic comedy that stars Craig Brown and Meredith MacNeill.
The indie from Shut Up and Deal Films is shooting in Halifax.
The ensemble cast includes Annie Valentina, Brian MacQuarrie, and Josh MacDonald.
The debut feature from MacLeod follows the native Nova Scotian graduating from York University and the Canadian Film Centre, before doing a couple of short films, including The Diary Found by a Nasty Kid and Pictou County Pride.
MacLeod then turned to TV, writing for a season on the CBC’s Street Cents and then working for six seasons on The Trailer Park Boys as a story editor and writer.
After co-writing two features, Beat Down and Relative Happiness, MacLeod is now directing Your Money or Your Wife, which received financing from Film and Creative Industries Nova Scotia and Telefilm Canada.
Brittany Amos is producing the feature, with Marc Almon executive producing.
Your Money or Your Wife tells the story of a cautious man named Lionel who becomes the victim of mistaken identity after his girlfriend dumps him, and before long takes part in a home robbery.
