Shaw Media has given the greenlight to a new original cooking show, called Chef in Your Ear, for a fall 2015 debut on Food Network Canada.
The competition cooking show, which begins production this March, pairs professional chefs with novices who must cook up their recipes. The catch is in the communication, with chefs and their rookie cooks only able to talk through an earpiece and TV monitor.
It will be produced by Toronto-based HLP for Food Network Canada, with the first season featuring 26, half-hour episodes. The series will be shot in Toronto.
The series was created by Justin Scroggie and developed by Ricardo Larrivee, Scroggie, Daniel Gelfant, Henry Less and Lee Herberman. Chef in Your Ear will be produced by Gelfant and co-produced by LeAnne Armano. Angela Donald is the supervising producer on the project, with international distribution being handled by The Format People.
