Ruba Nadda, Patricia Clarkson reteam for HBO drama

Canadian director Nadda (pictured) is making her TV debut with Elisabeth, a romantic drama set in the world of international politics.

Film director Ruba Nadda is headed to TV for the first time.

Nadda is reteaming with Patricia Clarkson (Cairo Time, October Gale) and Alan Poul, who in turn worked with Clarkson on Six Feet Under, on the drama Elisabeth in development with HBO.

“It’s a  dream to work with HBO, Alan and Patti again,” Nadda told Playback Daily.

The project is a romantic drama set in the world of international politics whose script Nadda will write and Clarkson will likely have a starring role.

Nadda will direct the pilot for Elisabeth, and executive produce along with Clarkson and Poul.

Cairo Time earned the best Canadian film trophy at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, and Nadda and Clarkson will return to Toronto this week to debut October Gale.

Nadda is represented by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
