BravoFACT names 10 short film grantees

The Bell Media-backed Canadian funding body has named 10 narrative shorts that will receive grants amounting to $371,000.

Ten short filmmakers will receive funding toward the production of their films in the latest round of funding by Bell Media’s bravoFACT.

Totalling $371,000, the grants will be dispersed amongst the filmmakers, selected out of a pool of 90 submissions from across Canada.

The list of bravoFACT fund recipients includes:

Remains of the Day – Christian Kelley
The Orchard – Darcy Van Poelgeest
Vox – Clark Johnson
Sing For Me – Rebecca Davey
Emily – Joshua Demers
Duty Calls – Jackie English
Dust – J. Adam Brown
The Voice – David Uloth
Hedge – Matthew Johnson
Crow – Robin McKenna

The next submission deadline is June 6, 2014.

Meanwhile, bravoFACT will host a panel during the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto on April 28 for aspiring docmakers interested in applying. The panel will be led by bravoFACT consultants Richard Crouse and Bob Culbert.
