Nova Scotia’s Devour! The Food Film Fest is headed south.

Executive director Michael Howell and managing director Lia Rinaldo are taking food-themed film festival to The Bahamas for Devour! The Beach, in Green Turtle Cay, Abacos from March 26-29, 2014.

Taking Devour! on the road follows the Wolfville, N.S.  festival in November wrapping its third edition, with Now, Forager, by Jason Cortlund and Julia Halperin, taking the best dramatic feature prize.

Unlike rival festivals that screen movie premieres to draw patrons, Devour! offers film-inspired meals by celebrity chefs after screenings.

The three–day event Bahamas event will feature culinary meals by celebrity chefs from Chicago, Las Vegas, Cleveland, Dallas, Ottawa, and Halifax chef and author Craig Flinn.

“The combination of food and film is a powerful recipe,” said Rinaldo in a statement Wednesday.

“Based on the success of Devour! in Wolfville, we are thrilled to take this brand to The Bahamas,” Rinaldo, a former Atlantic Film Festival programmer, added.
