Eric Balfour, Nicholas Campbell board Backcountry (Exclusive)

Haven‘s Eric Balfour and Nicholas Campbell have boarded Backcountry, the indie thriller from writer/director Adam MacDonald and Fella Films.

Balfour plays a mysterious outdoorsman who may or may not be who he says he is.

Campbell fills the role of a world-weary park ranger.

They join a cast top-lined by Missy Peregrym and Jeff Roop, as production on the survival thriller about a young couple, one of whom is a seasoned camper and the other is not, continues shooting in North Bay, Toronto and Vancouver through Nov. 6.

Backcountry is produced by Thomas Michael of Fella Films.

Cinematography is by Christian Bielz, while Dev Singh will edit.

Backcountry, which is set for a 2014 Canadian release by D Films, is funded by Telefilm Canada and Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
