ABC is following CTV and ordering a second season of its Canadian import Motive.

The homegrown procedural from Foundations Features and Lark Productions, which stars Lauren Holly and Kristin Lehman, will return to the U.S. network’s summer schedule alongside another Canadian drama, Rookie Blue.

The renewal follows production on the second season of Motive starting in early September after a first season captured an average audience of 1.1 million viewers on CTV.

The second cycle of 13 episodes of the cop drama, which has Lehman playing detective Angie Flynn, is shooting in Vancouver through January 2014.

CTV plans a mid-season 2014 debut for Motive, ahead of ABC’s summer play.

ABC aired the Canadian drama this past summer with Rookie Blue as a lead-out and alongside another import, NBC’s Crossing Lines.

Motive averaged a 1.2 share among adults 18-49 on ABC.

The cop drama was created by Daniel Cerone, and has Warren Christie and Valerie Tian joining a second season cast that includes returning talent Louis Ferreira, Brendan Penny, Roger Cross and Cameron Bright.
