Cineflix Media has confirmed that Showcase and BBC America’s period drama Copper will not get a third season.

“Cineflix is very proud of Copper and we would like to thank BBC America, Shaw Media and Beta Film for making it possible,” Glen Salzman, co-CEO of Cineflix Media said in a statement to Playback after news of the cancellation.

Copper will have its second-season finale on BBC America this Sunday, while Showcase has another ten episodes to run Sunday nights at 9 p.m.

“We’d also like to thank Barry Levinson, Tom Fontana, Will Rokos and Christina Wayne for their vision in creating the show and the extraordinary cast and crew who were able to build such a compelling story across 23 fantastic episodes,” Salzman added.

Cineflix Media has several unspecified scripted projects in development and is pitching projects to broadcasters in North America and U.K., the company added.
