CTV’s new daytime talker The Social to launch Sept. 2

CTV officially dives into the afternoon talk space on Sept. 2 when it debuts The Social, an original in-house produced one-hour talker co-hosted by Melissa Grelo, Cynthia Loyst, Lainey Lui and Traci Melchor.

First announced in March, the live program will feature round-table discussions with the co-hosts during different segments focused on lifestyle, health and daily headlines. As per its title, part of the show’s discussion will be drawn from regular check-ins on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and via text messaging and email with viewers.

CTV has nabbed Walmart as a launch and series partner, targeting viewers with household-focused promotions such as in-show segments and seasonal content integrations on topics such as getting the most out of your household budget.

The Social will be produced before a live studio audience at Bell Media’s Queen Street headquarters, and is exec produced by The Marilyn Denis Show‘s Michelle Crespi.

The series will also air live on CTV Mobile and be available on demand at CTV.ca and TheLoop.ca.
