Toronto-based multiplatform producer marblemedia has begun production on Japanizi Going Going Gong.
The chaotic game show will shoot its 40 episodes live in front of a studio audience in Toronto, on a set that will include conveyer belts and Velcro walls, according to a release from marblemedia.
Japanizi Going Going Gong is a comedic game show, adapted from a Japanese format, that has three elimination rounds in each episode. Four teams of two contestants will be dropped into an unfamiliar world where they’ll come up against physical gags, over-the-top stunts and zany characters like series host Yoshi and four ninjas.
The show will world premiere on YTV in Canada and Disney XD in the U.S. this fall. Japanizi Going Going Gong will also launch on VRAK TV in French Canada in 2014.
Distribution360 also has agreements with Disney Channels in Europe, Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia Pacific, including Australia, India and South East Asian territories to launch the series in 2014.
Marblemedia recently acquired full control of Distribution360 by purchasing the remaining 50% stake that it did not already own from co-owner Seven24 Films.
