Dad Drives web series gets $10,000 Bite development deal

Daniel Beirne and Mark Little’s web series, Dad Drives, has been awarded a $10,000 development deal with Blue Ant Media’s Bite TV following the Bite Comedy Web Series Competition last week.

The competition was part of Bite TV’s inaugural web series symposium at Second City.

The three project finalists in the web series competition who live pitched to the judging panel were Beirne and Little’s Dad Drives, Kane Stewart and Kajetan Kwiatkowski’s Human Town and Andrew Hunt’s Kids Show for Adults.

“We were really impressed by the incredible talent and caliber of content submitted for the competition. It was a really tough decision. We selected Dad Drives as it aligns well with our Bite brand and audience,” said Blue Ant Media SVP original content Marcia Martin in a statement.

The half-day symposium’s industry panelists included IPF, Bell Fund and Cogeco Fund exec director Andra Sheffer, iThentic VP content and production Lisa Baylin, CMF English market director Fran Accinelli and Blue Ant Media’s Martin. NSI online director Liz Hover moderated, with NSI CEO John Gill and Blue Ant EVP programming and marketing Vanessa Case delivering the opening address.
