Best Boy Entertainment, a Mount Pearl, NL-based production company, has acquired the copyright and production rights to They Never Left from Los Angeles-based Circle of Confusion, producers of The Walking Dead.

It is the first of Best Boy’s plan to produce up to three genre films a year. Based on the success of this initial venture, Circle will serve as a pipeline for American scripts. Best Boy is said to be actively seeking Canadian genre scripts.

They Never Left is an action ghost thriller penned by American script writer Patrick Hludzenski. Circle will assist with casting and the search for a director for the production that is expected to begin in the fall.

The deal was brokered by Best Boy executive producer Peter Wetherell, who is also the owner of Magus Entertainment in Los Angeles.
