Cracked sold to Astral’s Series+

Toronto-based White Pine Pictures announced Thursday that it sold the upcoming hour-long procedural cop drama Cracked to Astral’s Quebec fiction channel Séries+.

The 13-part drama stars David Sutcliffe and Stefanie von Pfetten, as a police detective and psychiatrist, respectively, who partner to solve psychologically complex crimes.

Cracked, slated to premiere on CBC in January, is created by screenwriter Tracey Forbes (Flashpoint) and producer-cop Calum deHartog, and exec produced by White Pine Pictures’ Peter Raymont and Janice Dawe.

The series is produced with participation from the Canadian Television Fund and Cogeco in association with Group M Entertainment, and distributed internationally by Beta Film GmbH and White Pine Releasing, and repped by eOne’s Carrie Stein in the U.S.
