Mercury Filmworks, Technicolor to co-produce new animated kids series
Ottawa-based animation studio Mercury Filmworks and Technicolor have partnered to co-develop and co-produce new boy-skewing, 2D-animated series Atomic Puppet.
The 52 x 11-minute comedy series currently in development targets boys ages six to 11 and follows the adventures of a 12-year old boy who accidentally acquires the powers of superhero Captain Atomic after he is transformed into a powerless puppet by his disgruntled sidekick.
The series, which Mercury and Technicolor will look to sell at MIPCOM 2012, is based on a concept by Mark Drop and Jerry Leibowitz.
