108 Media/Paladin acquires Midnight’s Children for U.S. release
Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children has been picked up for a U.S. release by 108 Media and U.S. partner Paladin.
Mehta’s adaptation of the prize-winning Salman Rushdie novel had its world premiere at Telluride, before screening in Toronto.
The U.S. release is set for spring 2013, after Mongrel Media releases Midnight’s Children in Canadian theatres on Nov. 2.
Canadian financing on Midnight’s Children came from Telefilm Canada, the CBC, Corus Entertainment, The Canadian Media Fund and the OMDC.
Film Nation is shopping the Canadian movie worldwide.
