9 Story, YTV begin a Cache Craze
Corus Entertainment’s YTV has commissioned new adventure series Cache Craze from Toronto-based 9 Story Entertainment, based on the recreational treasure-hunting activity geocaching.
The 10 x 60-minute competition series, to be hosted by Ryan Horwood (Monster Warriors, Howie Do It) will feature contestants participating in geocaching challenges and battling for prizes.
“Geocaching has captivated adventure enthusiasts from around the world and is perfect for engaging teen and family audiences,” said 9 Story president and CEO Vince Commisso in a statement.
“Cache Craze is the kind of show our YTV co-view audience enjoys. The adventure-based series will have viewers rooting for their favourite teams and laughing along the way with each mind-twisting and outrageous stunt they’re challenged with during the 10-week competition,” said Corus Entertainment VP original programming, kids, comedy, drama Jocelyn Hamilton in her own statement.
Participants in geocaching use GPS devices to find caches hidden by other people.
Cache Craze has begun production in Toronto and is slated to premiere on YTV next spring.
