Canadian films to screen in Busan
Telefilm Canada announced Monday that six Canadian films have been invited to the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral, Sean Garrity’s Blood Pressure, Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways, Michael McGowan’s Still and Shawn Linden’s The Good Lie will screen as part of the world cinema section.
And Jimmy Larouche’s La Cicatrice will screen in the Flash Forward section (a competitive section for a first- or second-time filmmaker from outside of Asia).
Garrity’s Blood Pressure will have its world premiere in Busan before travelling to the Whistler Film Festival to screen as part of its Borsos competition for best Canadian feature.
The films from Cronenberg, Dolan and McGowan are all screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, which began Sept. 6 and runs through to Sept. 16.
The Busan International Film Festival will take place Oct. 4 to Oct. 13.
