Syfy grabs U.K. rights to Continuum
Syfy has acquired exclusive U.K. rights to Canadian futuristic TV drama Continuum from international distributor GK-tv.
Continuum stars Rachel Nichols (Criminal Minds) as a cop from the future who becomes trapped in present day when she is transported with a group of fanatical terrorists escaping their planned execution in the year 2077.
Erik Knudsen (Jericho) and Victor Webster (Castle) also star.
The Showcase original series, filmed in Vancouver, is developed and produced by Reunion Pictures in association with Shaw Media.
The Canadian drama, based on the Out of Time pilot directed by Jon Cassar, was created by executive producer Simon Barry, with Jeff King as executive producer and showrunner.
Tom Rowe is also exec producing, with Cassar and Patrick Williams sharing in the directing duties.
Continuum premiered on Showcase on May 27 at 9 p.m., grabbing 1.7 million Canadian viewers.
