Space orders Bitten TV series, based on Kelley Armstrong novels
The Space channel has given a full-season order for the suspense drama Bitten from Vancouver-based No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment and Entertainment One.
The 13-part drama is based on the Women of the Otherworld novels by Kelley Armstrong.
Production is set for Toronto, to start in spring 2013.
J.B. Sugar will executive produce the series, set in Toronto and upper New York state, as it follows the adventures of 28-year-old Elena Michaels, a female werewolf.
Entertainment One will handle worldwide distribution rights for Bitten.
The commission follows Space earlier ordering 13 episodes of Orphan Black.
“This sexy new series is the perfect mix of suspense, action and heart, with compelling storylines and a really strong female lead,” Corrie Coe, senior VP of independent production at Bell Media, said Thursday in a statement.
