Archstone takes on My Awkward Sexual Adventure
As My Awkward Sexual Adventure prepares to make its premiere at TIFF, producers Juliette Hagopian and Jonas Chernick announced Tuesday that L.A.-based Archstone Distribution has acquired worldwide rights – excluding Canada – to the feature.
The film, produced by Winnipeg-based julijette inc. and Banana-Moon Sky Films, sees Chernick in the lead role as a straight-laced accountant who enlists the aid of an exotic dancer to win back his unsatisfied girlfriend.
Joining Chernick, who also wrote the screenplay, are Cosmopolis’ Emily Hampshire and Chuck’s Vik Sahay.
The film also marks the third partnership between Chernick and director Sean Garrity, who previously teamed up for 2005′s Lucid and 2001′s Inertia, which won the best first feature prize that year at the Toronto International Film Festival.
My Awkward Sexual Adventure makes its TIFF premiere Tuesday Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Scotiabank Theatre, followed by screenings at the Yonge-Dundas AMC theatre Sept. 13 at 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 15 at 9:45 a.m.
Canadian distribution of the film is being handled by Phase 4 Films.
