Antony Robart, Rosey Edeh to anchor Global’s News at Noon

The appointments for the Toronto midday newscast come as the Canadian broadcaster continues to expand its local TV news operation.

Global News has named Antony Robart and Rosey Edeh as hosts of its Toronto TV station’s new midday News at Noon telecast.

As the Canadian broadcaster expands its countrywide news-gathering operation, Robart and Edeh will anchor the News at Noon program from August 27, as it airs weekdays for a half hour from noon.

Robart has been with Global Toronto for seven years, after starting his TV journalist career in the U.S. and Europe, including stints with  Radio France International and CNBC Europe.

British-born Edeh started out as a weather and entertainment reporter with Global Montreal, before moving to CNN’s American Morning, and later MSNBC’s Early Today morning program.

Edeh also spent seven years as the lead reporter for ET Canada.

“The News at Noon completes Global Toronto’s weekday news offering by allowing us to continuously report on and update stories, while supporting Global News’ overall vision of making news content available around the clock regardless of the platform,” Ward Smith, news director and station manager for Global Toronto, said in a statement Tuesday.
