Fantasia copro conference produces two film deals
As the Fantasia International Film Festival‘s co-production conference concluded in Montreal, Blanc Biehn Productions has picked up the English language remake rights to Patricio Valladares’ Hidden in the Woods.
Valladares’ Spanish language film, which was shot in Chile, will have its world bow at Fantasia on Aug. 6.
Michel Biehn will star in the remake, which will be written by the original writers and creators of the Spanish version of the film.
Valladares and Andrea Gavaletto will shoot the remake in Chile, with Jennifer Blanc Biehn and Michael Biehn to produce.
And in a second deal at Fantasia’s co-production market, French producer Metaluna Production has partnered with Canada’s TCB Films and its head Simon Trottier to do an international co-production of Seve, by director Fabrice Blin.
Blin brought the project to the Frontières conference in search of an international partner.
Shooting is planned in Canada for 2013.
The Frontières International Co-Production market presented in all 14 projects in its main line-up, and another 10 in its Off-Frontières line-up.
