All the Wrong Reasons in production in Halifax

Principal photography has begun on All the Wrong Reasons, the first feature from New Brunswick-based writer-director Gia Milani.

The film stars Canadian actors Cory Monteith (Glee), Emily Hampshire (Cosmopolis), Kevin Zegers (Fifty Dead Men Walking) and Karine Vanasse (Pan Am), as four everyday people, who are connected by experience in a big box department store, and struggle in the aftermath of trauma.

“I’m fascinated by the universal human experience and the complexities of navigating these experiences. This is about longing for human connection and searching out how we fit in the world when circumstances erase how we indentify ourselves,” said Milani in a statement.

All the Wrong Reasons is produced by Milani, Tony Whalen of Shore Road Pictures and Phylis Laing of Buffalo Gal Pictures, in collaboration with Telefilm Canada, Vancouver-based Pacific Northwest Pictures, California-based Myriad Pictures, and provincial tax credits.

PNP’s Emily Alden will exec produce, with cinematography by Stephanie Weber-Biron (Heartbeats).

The film, developed with assistance from Telefilm, the province of New Brunswick and the Harold Greenberg Fund, will shoot across Halifax through Aug. 15.

Pacific Northwest Pictures will release the film in Canada, with Myriad Pictures handling international rights outside of Canada.

All the Wrong Reasons is slated for a 2013 theatrical release, and TV release on TMN and Movie Central for 2014.
