Planet in Focus appoints new board members
Planet in Focus, the Toronto-based non-profit environmental media arts organization behind the annual environmental film festival of the same name, has named four members to its board of directors.
New board members include documentary filmmaker Andrew Nisker (pictured, director of Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home; Chemerical); environmental consultant, researcher and producer Anne Wordsworth; environmental lawyer Joseph F. Castrilli; and Keir Brownstone, general manager of sustainable social housing company GLOBE Inc.
The organization’s executive director, Roberta J. Pazdro (or Rob Pazdro) was appointed to her post in April following a year-long stint as head of current affairs and lifestyle programming at Soweto TV. She has served as a production manager, supervising producer, and line producer in film and television for 20 years and has worked on various series for such companies as eOne, Rhombus Media and Marblemedia.
Chair Annette Mangaard has writer and director credits on scores of films, including Into the Night, Fish Tale Soup and General Idea: Art, AIDS, and the Fin de Siècle.
The 13th edition of the Planet in Focus Environmental Film Festival takes place in Toronto from Oct. 10 to 14.
