Murdoch Mysteries shooting in Queen’s Park with David Onley
Shaftesbury and CBC say yet another prominent government official will be making a cameo in Murdoch Mysteries.
David Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will appear as former lieutenant governor Sir Oliver Mowat in “The Ghost of Queen’s Park,” an ep from the upcoming sixth season of the hit one-hour drama.
Being on camera is nothing new for Onley, whose career as a journalist saw him work as a news anchor on both CityTV’s Breakfast Television and CP24′s Home Page, which he also produced until he was appointed leutenant governor five years ago.
In the episode Murdoch, played by Yannick Bisson, investigates the mysterious death of an MPP at Queen’s Park, only to find that the prime suspect may be a ghost.
The episode begins shooting Friday, with some scenes being filmed at Queen’s Park – the first time a television production has shot at the Ontario legislature in more than a decade.
