CBC’s Mark Kelley joins the fifth estate after Connect cancellation

The CBC TV personality got the go-ahead from CBC News chief Jennifer McGuire to join the pubcaster's long-running investigative series.

Mark Kelley has a new assignment from CBC News after the cancellation of Connect with Mark Kelley.

The CBC TV personality will join the fifth estate this September, working alongside Linden MacIntyre, Gillian Findlay and Bob McKeown.

“Mark is a great addition to the fifth estate,” said Jennifer McGuire, editor in chief, CBC News, in a statement Thursday.

“He has an uncanny ability to connect with Canadians. And with his formidable journalistic skills, makes a powerful addition to this stellar team,” she added.

Connect with Mark Kelley became a victim of a recent round of programming cuts at the CBC as it absorbs deep chops to its annual Parliamentary appropriation over the next three years.
