Christian Slater-starrer Stranded begins production in Sask
Sci-fi thriller Stranded began production Monday in Regina’s Saskatchewan Production Studio.
The feature film, directed by Roger Christian and written by Christian Piers Bentley, stars Christian Slater (pictured), alongside Canadian actors Amy Matysio (Just Friends), Michael Therriault (Total Recall) and Brendan Fehr (Bones).
Stranded centres on the events that follow the collision of a meteor with an astronaut crew’s moon base. The meteor carries spores that can replicate, reproduce and mutate cell structure, leading to deadly consequences.
Kevin DeWalt, Mark Montague and Isabella Battiston are producing, and DeWalt, David Cormican and Becki Hui are exec producing, with Danielle Masters on board as associate producer.
The film is produced by Minds Eye Entertainment in Association with Moving Pictures Media, with financial assistance from eOne Films Canada, Cinemavault, Image Entertainment and federal and provincial tax credits.
eOne Films Canada holds Canadian distribution rights, while Cinemavault has international rights and Image Entertainment has U.S. rights.
