Rogers plans Sask. doc in wake of local Citytv launch
Rogers Media has unveiled its first original programming commissioned locally after launching Citytv Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan-based Stephen Onda Productions is to produce the one-hour documentary The Sky is the Limit, about the current economic boom across the province.
Stephen Onda will direct the project, to debut on Citytv this September.
“Citytv is committed to producing strong, Canadian programming, and this documentary reflects that mission and our pride in shining a spotlight on this country’s success stories,” Claire Freeland, director of original programming for Rogers Media Broadcasting, said Tuesday in a statement.
The Sky is the Limit will combine interviews, archival and on-site footage to portray local players in booming sectors of the Saskatchewan economy.
The documentary comes alongside other original series from Citytv that includes The Bachelor Canada, and the homegrown sitcoms Seed and Package Deal.
