U.S. Sprout channel buys 9 Story’s Wibbly Pig series

The American preschool TV channel follows BBC's Cbeebies, TVO and Knowledge Network in acquiring the kids series based on Mick Inkpen's Wibbly Pig book series.

9 Story Entertainment has sold its preschool cartoon Wibbly Pig to the U.S. Sprout channel.

The American preschool TV channel bought 26 half hours of the kids TV series based on Mick Inkpen’s Wibbly Pig book series, and which 9 Story co-produces with U.K.-based Wish Films.

“We are thrilled that Wibbly Pig will be joining Sprout’s highly respected line-up of preschool programming,” said Natalie Osborne, executive vice president of business development at Toronto-based 9 Story Entertainment, in a statement.

Wibbly Pig was originally commissioned by BBC’s Cbeebies, TVO and Knowledge Network.
