Banff 2012: NFB launches branded channel in China
Local partner Pheonix New Media offers Chinese internet users access to films produced and distributed by the National Film Board of Canada.
The National Film Board of Canada has a beachhead presence in China, thanks to local partner Phoenix New Media.
The NFB has created NFB Zone as a Canadian-branded online channel to offer Chinese internet users access to films produced and distributed by the publicly-funded filmmaker.
NFB Zone features around 130 NFB animated videos and documentaries that are regularly updated, which Phoenix New Media holding the exclusive right to air and redistribute the Canadian producer’s content library.
“Our strategic partnership will not only enrich the NFB’s global distribution channels and Feng’s (Phoenix’s) video content library, but it will also offer Chinese audiences an ideal destination to reach the best Canadian-produced documentaries and animated films,” said Shuang Liu, CFO of Phoenix New Media.
Phoenix New Media offers premium content across internet, mobile and TV channels in China.
