Quebecor Media inks e-book partnership with ReadBooks SAS

Quebec media group Quebecor Media has inked an e-book partnership with ReadBooks SAS, which includes taking an unspecified minority stake in the France and Quebec-based company.

As part of the agreement, ReadBooks help develop new software for Quebecor Media properties Archambault and Paragraph to bolster their book-reading value for consumers.

“Quebecor is happy to partner with an entrepreneurial team involved in such a growing and well positioned sector of today’s digital and virtual economy,” Pierre Karl Peladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor Media, said in a statement.

ReadBooks has offices in Paris and Montreal, and plans to double its staff to around 60 people by the end of the year.
