eOne to release U.S. DVD, digital product for Cohen Media Group

The output deal is the latest as the Canadian distributor continues to penetrate the U.S. theatrical and home entertainment market.

Entertainment One has signed a U.S. home entertainment distribution deal with Cohen Media Group.

The Canadian distributor will handle DVD/Blu-ray, digital rental and sell-through product for the U.S. producer and distributor, whose movie releases include the Michelle Yeoh-starrer The Lady, by Luc Besson, and Nick Murphy’s The Awakening (pictured), starring Rebecca Hall and Dominic West.

“Cohen is focused on bringing top films to the U.S. and we’re eager to offer our titles to audiences through various platforms,” Gary Rubin, Cohen Media Group’s executive VP, said in a statement in the wake of news fo the tie-up with Entertainment One.

Titles under the DVD deal include the Cohen Film Collection, which will be mined for films by Buster Keaton, Douglas Fairbank and D.W. Griffith.

The distribution deal was negotiated by Rubin for Cohen Media Group and Michael Rosenberg for Entertainment One.
