Cookie Jar and DISH to expand kids programming
Toronto-based Cookie Jar Entertainment and DISH Network, the third largest pay TV provider in the U.S., have forged a new streaming deal with an aim to growing DISH’s Blockbuster @Home subscription service’s slate of family and kids programming.
Subscribers to the Blockbuster @Home package can now access on-demand nearly 400 episodes of Cookie Jar television series, such as Adventures of Paddington Bear, Busy World of Richard Scarry (pictured), Busytown Mysteries, Country Mouse, City Mouse, Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, Madeline, Sonic the Hedgehog, Strawberry Shortcake and Wimzie’s House.
The new deal further adds to the Blockbuster @Home package, which offers DISH customers more than 100,000 DVD movies, TV shows and games by mail; streaming access on TV to more than 10,000 movies and TV shows, including more than 3,000 kids and family shows.
